Hilton Grand Vacation Club (HGVC) offers two different kinds of vacation ownership products to travelers: Hilton Grand Vacation timeshares, a deeded property allowing vacations in specific one-week increments or HGVC Points, vacation points that are redeemable at any of the resorts within the Grand Vacations resort network. Not matter which you prefer you can buy it on the Hilton timeshare resale market.
Hilton Timeshares:
Travelers who buy Hilton timeshares receive a deeded, simple interest in a specific Hilton property. Owners of Hilton timeshares travel during a specific one-week increment during an allotted Club season. Hilton timeshare owners that invested in HGVC affiliated resorts have the option of not joining the club but may do so at a later date for less than $400. For HGVC built resorts, owners are immediately enrolled into the club and assigned a Hilton timeshare club season: Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum based on the number of Hilton Club points they earned when they bought the property. Each resort has different weeks that are peak-season.
Hilton Timeshare Travel Options
For travelers who vacation the same time each year, the fixed week Hilton timeshare may provide convenience as Hilton is a reputable company that provides luxury accommodations at a reasonable rate. For those not ready to commit yet, Hilton also offers timeshare rentals with the same affordability and premier destinations.
Hilton Grand Vacation Points:
The HGVC utilizes a flexible points-based reservation and exchange system. Similar to the Hilton timeshare program, members buy a deeded floating interval at their preferred resort and receive annual amount of Vacation Points. The number of points is predetermined by the size and location of the resort and the popularity of the destination. These points can be exchanged to reserve your vacation in a variety of different ways.
HGVC Points Flexibility
Like a traditional timeshare, HGVC owners can choose to travel to their resort for a one-week vacation. However, they could decide to split their yearly points up into a few three day getaways at a few different resorts. If Hilton points owners stay in a smaller unit or travel in non-peak season, they can stay for two weeks instead of one for the same amount of points.
Members of the HGVC may also borrow vacation points from the upcoming year (at no extra cost) to plan for a more luxurious personalized vacation that may last longer than one week. They can also bank this year's points to save for the following year, and if Hilton owners forget to bank their points by the deadline, the HGVC's Rescue Points program allows members another opportunity to do so for a small fee.
Why Hilton Club Points are Easy
The HGVC includes three reservation periods: Home Resort Season reservations; Club Season reservations; and Open Season reservations. During Home Resort Season reservations members experience priority reservations at their home resort in their home season. They may reserve their travel date as early as one year before the vacation. Within the later Club Season, Hilton owners experience flexibility to reserve any traveling dates at any club resort for any number of days over three nights. If owners somehow miss these two deadlines, there is always the Open Season Reservations period. These last-minute reservations allow members to make reservations from 30 days before the travel date up to the day before. There is a two-night minimum and $49 fee for making the reservations using club points.
Perks of Owning Hilton Points
Owners of HGVC points are automatically enrolled in the Hilton Honors program at the Silver Level. Members may convert their club points to HHonors points, where a 1 bedroom during gold season is worth 3,400 points would convert to 78,200 HHonors points. Alternatively, travelers may use their HHonors points for various services like airfare and other Hilton Hotels.
